Practical care guide
How to organize a meal calendar that actually helps
A good care meal calendar reduces decisions for the recipient. It should make the next useful action obvious for helpers while exposing as little private information as possible.
1. Ask before organizing
Confirm whether meals are wanted, which dates matter, allergies or dietary needs, a drop-off window, and whether the address may appear on a private link.
2. Make the request specific
“Dinner for two on Tuesday” is easier to act on than “help sometime.” Create a limited set of dates and let helpers choose one.
3. Keep care details private
A helper needs logistics, not a medical history. Share only recipient-approved instructions and avoid diagnoses in notes.
4. Let the board do the reminding
Use one source of truth. When a date is covered, everyone should see it immediately so the recipient does not get duplicate meals or messages.
